This year’s holiday season is well underway and there are only a few shopping days left. If you’re looking for a unique last-minute gift idea, the H. Lee White Marine Museum in Oswego has ‘just the ticket’ for you!

Next year marks the 100th anniversary of the sinking of the great ship Titanic and the museum will commemorate the centennial with ‘A Titanic Affair’ gala. This premier fund-raising event is planned for Saturday, April 14, 2012 at the American Foundry in

Oswego.  “People look for new gift ideas each holiday season and this year they will have the opportunity to give something truly unique – tickets to ‘A Titanic Affair,’” said Mercedes Niess, executive director of the H. Lee White Marine Museum. “This very special event will honor the centennial by re-creating a magical evening aboard the Titanic.” Tickets are on sale now for $100 each. The highlight of the admission price is the preparation of a first-class menu similar to that served aboard the Olympic-class Titanic. It will feature an eight-course meal with the appropriate wine pairings. Guests will also enjoy music, dancing, and games similar to those played on the ship. They can participate in a silent auction with an assortment of beautiful prizes and enter to win a pair of replica RMS Titanic deck chairs. Each person will also receive a keepsake gift to mark the occasion and a professional photographer will be at hand to take commemorative photos against a backdrop of the famous grand staircase for a nominal fee.  For more information check www.hleewhitemarinemuseum.com.
