Award-winning actress and founder of the Born Free Foundation, Virginia McKenna, will return to the small screen and Kenya this Sunday, 23 October in Virginia McKenna’s Born Free, the Channel 4 documentary airing at 7pm.
This year marks the 50th anniversary of the film adaption of Joy Adamson’s autobiographical book “Born Free” in which Virginia McKenna and her late husband, Bill Travers, play Joy and her husband, George.
The famous film follows the endearing story of how Joy and George Adamson raised orphaned lion cub, Elsa to adulthood and her successful release back into the wilderness.
