Knowing where you and your partner are going to eat during your stay in Scarborough can be a challenge. Often we can be left strolling up and down the high street, promenade or central plaza looking for a decent restaurant only to find there are hundreds to choose from with us having no idea which ones are good, bad or generally OK.
Sometimes we might come across a fine restaurant that is looking well furnished, seems to have a good menu but has no customers inside. This can lead people to think there’s something not quite right about the eatery but often it’s nothing more than a mass avoidance thing where everyone thinks the same thing. Often restaurant owners will fill tables with their own staff (posing as contented customers) in the hope that clients will pour in off the street – and it’s a trick that often works.
One restaurant that often has no need to try this trick is the one based at the Park Manor Hotel in Scarborough. It can be found on the Northstead Manor Drive and lives off its reputation as a place where fine dining comes as standard.
Its head chef, Paul Brown, has been at the hotel for nearly 20 years and has experience with some of the best in the restaurateur business. Paul has worked with some of the United Kingdom’s top establishments and you can guarantee you’ll be buying into the best Sunday dinner or lunch menu in the entire town of Scarborough.
The kitchen is in immaculate condition, all the food is fresh and locally sourced and the dinner menu includes such delicacies as the pan fried salmon with chorizo sausage and tomato sauce; a roasted rack of lamb with redcurrant pan juice; pork medallions topped with goat’s cheese and chargrilled vegetable ravioli smothered in a delicious tomato and basil pepper sauce.
You’ll even be able to enjoy some of the finest starters on any menu in Scarborough at the Park Manor Hotel. You really should try the spicy French onion soup or the smoked mackerel with lemon pate served on oatmeal cakes – or the pink grapefruit with melon topped with black cherry yoghurt and tangerines.
There are provisions for private dining and business lunches available too at this top restaurant – clearly one of the best in Scarborough. The bar has a selection of the finest draught lagers, ciders and ales with bar snacks available for those who are simply a little peckish. The private dining room is separate from the main restaurant and has provision for up to 36 diners at any one time.
