Panda & Sons, a Queen street basement bar can easily be missed but shouldn’t be. With its artisanal cocktails and 1920’s speakeasy vibe, Panda & Sons is definitely one to check out if you like gin based spirits, especially ones with a twist. Cosy up to the bar and have one of the very skilled bartenders tell you the story of the place while mixing you up something uniquely yours.

Roseleaf Bar Café - 23/24 Sandport Pl, Edinburgh EH6 6EW

The Roseleaf Bar Café is a little bit off the beaten path but worth the visit. Located in the historicPort’o Leith area of Edinburgh, The Roseleaf has a comfy atmosphere filled with lots of quirk. It may be a café bistro but the food you find there is delicious. Grab the eggs benedict with black pudding for a solid breakfast to start your day of site seeing.

Roseleaf also happens to be home of The Mad Hatter’s Tea Party – which isn’t your granny’s high tea. It is high tea with a twist and full of fun. With their selections of fun hats for you to wear while enjoying tea, you will feel just like Alice did in Wonderland.

Henderson’s - 25 Thistle Street, EH2 1DX

Henderson’s is currently the only fully vegan restaurant in Edinburgh. They actually have a few shops under the Henderson name, including a bistro and shop/deli if vegan food isn’t your thing. They offer a menu full of delicious Vegan and veggie options that include wines and beers and desserts as well. Try the cashew fritters with rice and satay; it’s a menu highlight.

The Number One at the Balmoral- Balmoral Hotel, 1 Princes St, Edinburgh EH2 2EQ

Okay, so The Number One isn’t what you would call a quirky establishment; located in the Balmoral Hotel, it is probably as posh as it gets. One of three restaurants located in the hotel, Number One defines its menu as modern Scottish cuisine. The 7 & 10 Chef tasting menu options is what makes Number One Balmoral’s crown jewel.Where else can you taste Balmoral Smoked Salmon paired with Charles Heidsieck Brut Champagne? It will set you back but a pretty penny but the experience that you will have is beyond unique and not to be missed.
