New York City is among the largest cities in the world. This is due to the presence of boroughs. The boroughs had their own system of government and maintained separate identities. However, they form part of New York City. The five New York boroughs include:
Bronx - It ranks as the second smallest borough. There is less population here compared to that of Manhattan. More than 1.3 million people counted during the 2010 census. The area has parks for families and streets lined with trees. Also found in Bronx is the Bronx Zoo, exhibits and outside cafes. People touring the area enjoy the Botanical Gardens too.
Manhattan - Even, though it is the smallest of all boroughs, Manhattan has a larger population compared to the largest New York borough. Common attractions include the Central Park and Empire State Building. Different activities take place in the neighborhoods. They include The Times Square in Midtown, the Eastern side comprises museums, and the Lower part has traditional cuisines whereas Harlem has jazz clubs and boutiques.
Brooklyn-It is the most densely populated of all boroughs. It lies on 71 square miles with a total population of 2.5 million individuals. Famous music events in Brooklyn include Brooklyn Academy of Music and Brooklyn Philharmonic. There are various works of art in the museum in Brooklyn. Different ethnicities are also a part of Brooklyn.
Staten Island - It has the least population as well as inhabitants. The population in the area amounts to 470,000 people. The New York Bay divides this borough from the others. People in this borough feel left out compared to individuals in neighboring boroughs.
