Fujisan Mishima Tokyu Hotel restaurant
The Mount Fuji Mishima Tokyu Hotel is about to open at the south exit of Mishima Station on the Tokaido Shinkansen - Hikari and Kodama lines. About 45 minutes south of Tokyo and just under than two hours north of Kyoto, it's an easy stop between these two other bucket-list destinations in Japan.
The hotel offers a great location, with spectacular views of Mt. Fuji and a 20-minute drive from Mishima Skywalk - the longest pedestrian suspension bridge in Japan, allowing 360-degree panoramic views of Mount Fuji. It's also a central location for access to the Izu Peninsula and Hakone. Its special offerings include a wide variety of leisure activities, such as: cycling, mountain climbing, rappelling, canyoning, paragliding, golf, hot spring bathing facilities, and more. The 200-room property includes five types of guest rooms: double, twin, deluxe twin, family, and suite (below), with room sizes ranging from 20 to 64 square meters. The sophisticated interior is designed by Shimizu Corporation with motifs of spring water as well as lava and stone particular to the area. On the top floor, the 14th, it a large indoor- and-outdoor public baths, with water taken directly from Mount Fuji and with breathtaking views of the legendary mountain. On the 13th floor, is a restaurant featuring Japanese/Western style Robata cuisine as well as a function/meeting/banquet room. Staff will be multi-lingual.
Hotel reservations began in December, and special opening rates are as low as 20,000 yen per room can be found on the Tokyu Hotels website.
