Visit the “Sweetest Place on Earth” – Hershey, Pennsylvania

Valentine’s Day or any day is a good day for Kisses and Hugs – Hershey’s Kisses and Hugs that is. While in Hershey here are some do not miss things to do. Hershey, Pennsylvania is a short drive from most places in New York State.

  1. Get on board the Hershey Trolley for a “get acquainted” excursion. The journey begins in front of the Hershey’s Chocolate World.  Don’t be surprised if your conductor breaks into song and stops to pick up some “characters!” It is old-fashioned fun and an informative trip through the town built on chocolate.
  2. Chocolate ... chocolate ... and more chocolate! Hershey’s Chocolate World is the official visitor’s center of The Hershey Company. Learn about making chocolate and take a Chocolate Making Tour Ride. You never know whom you might meet.  Maybe Peppermint Patty or some other character. It is free!
  3. Learn fascinating stories of Hershey the man, the candy empire he founded, the model town he created, and the Hershey Kiss through a variety of exhibits and artifacts. Most impressive is the story of Milton S. Hershey himself. How different things might have been had he used the ticket he purchased on the Titanic. www.hersheymuseum.org
  4. Visit with chocolate pampering at the Hotel Hershey Spa where guests soak in a chocolate bath, get a chocolate scrub, followed by a chocolate wrap, and top it off with a chocolate martini or one of the hotel’s signature chocolate coffees in the hotel’s bar and/or restaurant.
