The Seychelles is very fortunate to host nesting populations of both the green turtle (chelonia mydas) and the hawksbill turtle (eretmochelys imbricata). When one realises that the International Union for the Conservation of Nature (IUCN) has the green turtle on the endangered list and the hawksbill as critically endangered you tend to appreciate the amazing experience enjoyed by many at
Chalets d' Anse Forbans.
Chalets d' Anse Forbans is located on the
hawksbill turtle nesting beach of Anse Forbans on the island of Mahe Seychelles. The staff and guest of Chalets d' Anse Forbans have been very fortunate in the past to have been able to see either a nesting adult female turtle laying her eggs or the hatchlings making their way to the warm Indian Ocean.

Through strict conservation regulations the
Seychelles Islands are home to one of the five largest remaining populations of the hawksbill turtles in the world. And the Seychelles Islands also have the largest population of nesting hawksbills in the Western Indian Ocean.
Chalets d' Anse Forbans works closely with the Marine Conservation Society of the Seychelles in the conservation of the Hawksbill Turtle.
