Sayulita
is a beach for adventurers. Age does not matter, and nor does whether you come as a family, a couple or with friends. What attracts tourists to Playa Sayulita is the fact that it places new experiences, from surfing to camping by the edge of the sea and making friends from around the world, within their grasp. In this Nayarit paradise, relaxation is for the nighttime; during the day, adrenaline and joy will keep your senses alive and your heart racing.

If you are already an experienced surfer, its waves will be a good challenge for your abilities on the board; if not, you will find many experts ready to teach you. Every year, the waves of Sayulita are the venue for various surfing competitions which are attended by competitors from all over the world.

The lovers of this sport are those who give Sayulita its relaxed, cosmopolitan atmosphere, with the mystical color of Huichol art at its core. Cobblestone streets, art galleries and restaurants with a great variation of dishes on offer will make you think of a typical Mexican town such as San Miguel de Allende, with the priceless advantage of having the sea just a stone’s throw away.

What is more, you can practice other water-based activities such as snorkeling and kayaking. There is also excitement on land: a horse ride on the beach, an adventure exploring the surrounding rainforest on foot to look at birds, or a cycling circuit. Harmony with nature is fundamental in Sayulita and its surrounding areas; depending on the time of year you can go whale spotting or free turtles. Since it is part of the Riviera Nayarit, very close to Sayulita you will find other sites that will enrich your trip, such as San Blas for those who enjoy culture and Punta Mita for an experience of luxury and relaxation.

We have visited Sayulita for the past three years. The people and their warmth make this village special.

The "beach lifestyle" is the magnet and the exceptional culinary experiences add a great deal to each visit.
