Suzhou Museum- Something Old and Something New

The beautiful IM Pei designed Suzhou Museum is a must-see site in the lovely canal town of Suzhou. The sprawling complex is designed as a modern take on the traditional Suzhou grey and white courtyard structures. The Museum houses many artifacts that showcase the prosperous history of Suzhou and the surrounding water towns. Adjacent to the newly designed structure and also part of the museum is one of the most historically significant complexes in Suzhou. This complex was owned by one of the leaders of the Taiping Rebellion and holds both a Taiping Chapel and Military Hall.

The China Guide can arrange private no shopping tours to Suzhou with a stop at the Suzhou Museum as a part of a multi-day water town tour, Shanghai day excursion or a China-wide tour.
