There is a place where you can swim among jellyfish. It is a somewhat magical place of crystal clear waters, surrounded by lush vegetation and located in Micronesia: Jellyfish Lake. This incredible place is in Palau, a country made up of around 200 populated Islands in the Pacific Ocean. The lake was formed thousands of years ago when the outlet to the sea was closed and trapped the jellyfish, providing them with a lake where they were able to thrive.

Contrary to popular belief, the lake jellyfish have small urticant cells, called nematocysts or cnidoblasts, but these urticant cells are so small that they don’t sting your skin, meaning that you can swim in the lake and even touch the jellyfish with no risk involved.

Our video of the month is impressive!
