The Green Wilderness of the Great Smoky Mountains National Park

The Great Smoky Mountains National Park in United States National Park is world famous national park which is said to straddle the ridgeline of the Great Smoky Mountains which is a part of the Blue Ridge Mountains, a division of the Appalachian Mountain chain. This national park covers an area of 522, 419 acres and is yet another UNESCO World Heritage Site. This park is said to be the second most visited national park with a record of more than 9 million tourists and 11 million non- recreational visitors in the year 2010. The count of visitors is said to be more than twice the count of visitors in Grand Canyon.  

The park provides several attractions which include numerous historical attractions among which the best preserved is Cades Cove which is a valley with numerous preserved historic buildings which includes barns, churches and log cabins. This Cades Cove is most frequently visited place in the national park. There are several hiking trails in the park along with bicycle as well as self guided automobile tours. In short, this place is ideal for any age and is must once in a lifetime visit tourist attraction.
