There's More to Boston than "Big Papi" and Tom Brady

Boston Sunset from the Top of the Deck

It's hard to argue that Boston is not the birthplace of America. Just take a walk along the Freedom trail, and you can relive American history. You too can walk the steps of Samuel Adams and imagine America succeeding from the British, and follow the footsteps of Paul Revere and the Boston Tea Party. Indeed, American independence centers around Boston. Politics, finance, religion all centered in Boston as a new nation was created.

Walking around Boston is a trip through American history.

Bostonians are a passionate lot that keeps Boston at the forefront of U.S. cities. A multicultural city where people from all over the world live in harmony. Some come for the food. Offering some of the best clam chowder, lobster, mussels in the world. if you’re a seafood lover, you’ve come to the right place. Boston is a small city. One of the greatest walking cities on the planet. To walk from Faneuil Hall to the Back Bay and on to the Charles River can easily be done in an hour or two. The Freedom trail is only two and a half miles long. Relax in Boston Common, Boston's Central Park, but much smaller. Take in American history as you stroll the streets of this provincial city. Check out architecture dating back to the 16th century. Marvel at the fact there seemingly is an old, historic church on every block. Old world colonial charm meets modern sophistication in Boston. If it's summer, it's all about the Red Sox. Take in a Red Sox game at baseball's grand dame, Fenway Park. Drink beers with the locals after a game. Visit “ Cheers,” where one of America's longest running television shows was filmed. Visit the site of the Boston Massacre and the House of Paul Revere dating date to 1680 circa. Catch a play. There's always something on stage.

Strolling the Boston Common is a relaxing way to spend a day

If architecture is your thing you've come the right city. Stroll the historic structures that are still intact on Beacon Hill. While the Federal and Greek Revival styles were most popular during the first half of the 19th century and are the most predominant on the Hill, later examples of Italianate, Panel Brick, Egyptian Revival, Queen Anne, and American Gothic Revival styles can also be found. Rent a bike. Biking is great way to see a city, and Boston is no acceptation. Rent a Kayak and view Boston from the Charles River. Walk, bike, stroll, it’s hard to get lost, and if you do, there is always friendly native to guide you back on your path. Make it up to the 52nd floor of the Top of the Deck for a great night view of South Boston and the River Charles.

Boston's premier shopping is found on or around Newbury Street in the Back Bay district. Here you will find some of the best high end shopping in Boston, along with one of a kind boutiques. Newbury Street and the Back Bay are loaded with shopping opportunities. Although Faneuil Hall has been around since the American Revolution, now it is a touristy area and the shopping is now chain stores, and souvenir shops found in most U.S. cities.

Nightlife and Entertainment

Saying that Bostonians know how to party and love life is an understatement. Bostonians are a lively bunch who live life to the fullest. Boston remains true as one of America's. winning sports town. In fact all four pro sports teams, the Red Sox, Patriots, Celtics and Bruins have all won championships in the last decade. Say something bad about the Red Sox, and you may get your head knocked off. Of course, every third Monday in April is America's premier foot race, the Boston Marathon. Boston is full of bars, restaurants, brew pubs, and more. Boston is full of live music and performing arts.

Mike's Pastry serves over 20 kinds of scrumptious canoli . Boston's Chinatown may not rival San Francisco or New York, but still serves up tasty Chinese dishes..
