Israel is undeniably a small nation, but it is rich in history and culture. This country has a great amount of history to offer its visitors.

Traveling to Israel? Here are some things to keep in mind before you go travel to Israel:

First off, passport stamps are no longer. Nowadays, a paper visa is issued at entry which shows your stamp. The visas are issued on arrival — free of charge — to Canadian, New Zealand, UK, Irish, and US passport holders.

For your protection, polio and typhoid vaccines are recommended. The country’s currency is Israeli new shekel, and the official languages are Hebrew & Arabic. Nonetheless, English is widely spoken by the residents.

Be ready to bargain your way through the Old City Market. For tour guides, in bars, and in the restaurant, remember to tip around 10-15%.

Read and research on the history and politics of Israel. The modern state of Israel was previously named Palestine, and its population was around one million Palestinians. After a war between the Palestinians and the Israelis, the modern state of Israel came into being, then came a mandate from the UN specifying the borders of Israel and Palestine. It resulted in an ongoing unrest between Israelis and the Arabs. There is much more to their history. Better be aware of it before you go.

Though conflict may arise easily, Israel is a safe place to visit. Just make sure to be updated and alert as you walk through the city. Have no fear, and visit Palestinian territories, as these places offer a great insight into history as well.

Always keep in mind that from nightfall Friday through dusk on Saturday is Shabbat – the holy day for Jews, and numerous places and organizations will close for the day of rest.

Since parts of Israel are quite religious, remember to dress consciously and appropriately.

Make the most out of your stay!

Do you already know where you want to go in Israel? There are a lot of places to visit and sights to behold. An itinerary is recommended so that you can maximize your stay and be able to see most — if not everything — of the wondrous locations Israel has to offer.

While you’re at it, don’t forget to make the most out of your trip by tasting their delicacies! Israel has a thrilling Middle Eastern palette that you could not miss!Be sure to try their hummus, shawarma, falafel, halo mich edder, mint tea, and baklava!
