Three Great Beach Getaways in Malaysia

Malaysia is a land with much diversity and plenty to experience.  Beach lovers will enjoy fun in the sun interspersed with a variety of other cultural activities.

 

Kota Kinabalu:  Located in East Malaysia, there are two Shangri-la Hotels near Kota Kinabalu with great beaches but for those who choose to stay at the Hyatt in the city center there are frequent and fast boat services to the wonderful beaches on the islands in the bay.  Visitor can choose to visit one, two or three islands, all with full support services.

 

Kuching:  Like Kota Kinabalu, Kuching is also located in East Malaysia on the island of Borneo but in the state of Sarawak. Damai Beach Resort, about an hour from the city center, has two swimming pools and a beach area.  As an added bonus it is adjacent to the wonderful Sarawak Cultural Village.

 

Penang:  Penang is an island on the northwest coast of Peninsular Malaysia by the Strait of Malacca.  There are many historic sites but also hotels in all categories along the beachs. Consider the Park Royal where they have an excellent swimming pool and a beach area offering all sorts of water fun activities.

 

To reach Malaysia from Central New York it is best to book a Continental flight to Hong Kong and then connect to Malaysia via Air Asia, an excellent budget airline.
