The Canary Islands are the kind of place where you feel you have stepped into a different world.  Its unique archipelago geography, Atlantic location and history steeped in great legends and traditions set it aside from the rest of the country.  Fuerteventura is one of the Canary Islands.  Here are some of its must-see attractions:

El Cotillo

Nature decided to bless this place with one of the most impressive spectacles it can offer: sunset. There is no better beach from which to view the sun slipping behind the Atlantic horizon at dusk.  It is a priceless gift, every single day.

Corralejo Dunes

Do you like walking? You’ll love walking on the sand dunes at Corralejo. The sand runs through your toes as if you were treading on the soul of Fuerteventura.

Jandía Beaches

These beaches can be summed up in two words: infinite and free. To which we can add the following images: turquoise waters, the gentle breeze and the peaceful splash of low waves.

Betancuria

Because Fuerteventura is not just about beaches and the sea.  Four hundred years of Canary Islands history in one place: the first colonial Canarian city.  Convents, churches, traditional Canarian homes… all in one place.

Gran Tarajal

Fresh majorero fish in an authentic environment.  A place to enjoy the most traditional seafood cuisine.  The best examples can be found in the coastal villages.

Isla de los Lobos

The turquoise water says it all.  Bathing on the beaches at Isla de los Lobos is purifying for the soul.  You really have to bathe here.  As long as you can swim, of course!

The Magic Mountain of Tindaya

The old settlers of Fuerteventura believed this mountain to have magic properties.  Strange foot-shaped engravings in the rock that point west, known as podomorphs, hint at the mountain’s enigmatic past.

Viewpoint Las Peñitas

After leaving behind the oldest village in the Canaries, the path continues as far as this scenic viewpoint, where visitors can enjoy panoramic views over the whole island.    The oldest mountains in the archipelago.

Release of sea turtles in Cofete Beach

Several times a year, always during the summer months, something very special happens on the beaches of Cofete: the release of sea turtles.  Everyone who is there to experience this feels an extraordinary connection with nature.

Lava tube, Llano Cave

This is a 648 meter-long lava tube located near Villaverde.  Walking along one of its 500 meter-long forks, you reach the habitat of the only white arachnid in existence.  An incredible adventure for everyone.

“Those who are looking for the perfect spot for a couples vacation or a family vacation on Jandía Beach, theIBEROSTAR hotels in Fuerteventura boast an excellent location as well as facilities geared for fun and relaxation.   They are also perfect for conferences in Fuerteventura or business incentive trips.”
