I arrived in Harbin on the second day of Harbin Ice Festival 2013. It cost me 2 hours on the way from Jilin Province to Harbin. The temperature got slowly lower and lower in the 2 hours. I clearly witnessed there arise a layer of cream on the car windows. After getting out the the car, I felt my nose was freezing with my breath. Thus, I put on my breathing mask in a hurry.
Although it was warm enough in the hotel room, I couldn’t keep staying in the room and watching others playing with snow happily. Therefore, I collected my courage hidden in every corner of my border and came out. Then I found I could survive in the sharp wind. The fact was that it was not that horrible as I imagined. The persuasive evidence was that I ate three strings of sweet gourds and two ice pops. Now, I will introduce some practical tips if you are coming to the 2014 Harbin Ice Festival.
First, about your apparel. You can wear your usual winter shoe. And you cannot wear high-heeled shoes, because the street equals to a skating rink. Wear down jacket and down pants.
Second, as for the ticket. It’s 300 RMB for the Ice and Snow World. The old aged 70 and the children short than 1.2 m are free.
Third, the transportation: you can take buses of No.552, 551, 346, 219, 216, 212, 85 and 54 to the Ice and Snow World. Get off at the Taiyangdao Daokou station.
The last but not the least, take a cup of hot water, because of the dry air.
Are you prepared to enjoy the Harbin Ice Festival 2014?
