- Japanese Yen (JPY) is the official currency of Japan. Rate will vary depending on time when visitors change. When traveling to Japan, visitors should convert to JPY, as most supermarkets, shopping centers, restaurants, shops and hotels accept to pay in Yen, they will hardly ever accept US dollars or other foreign currencies.

- Japan is also the shopping paradise. But Japan adds VAT at 5%. Foreigners are exempt from VAT when purchasing in Japan on condition that they must purchase goods in duty-free shops and present their passports. Visitors note that the duty-free shops will directly deduct 5% of VAT tax on invoice, but visitors must obtain and keep carefully invoice to present at airport is required. 

- Like in other countries, Japanese people respect individual freedom, so visitors should avoid laughing, talking too loud or profanity in public places, hotels, restaurants. Do not litter, smoke indiscriminately at place with prohibitive signs, if visitors violate, they may be punished.
