Located in the centre of Nha Trang city, Lam Café is one of construtions that Vietnam Architects Association awarded “Vietnam green architecture 2012”.
The unique feature of this café is its open design with unique ventilation system serving for bring the sunshine and fresh air into the café.
Lam Café is a project designed by A21 Studio. This café has an using area of 350 square meters and the total area is 800 square meters. It is near the residential area so designers had to be careful to design the roof system in order to have many beautiful views. The roof consists of three layers: the innermost layer is coconut leaves, the middle layer is brick and the outer layer is a fishing-net. In the future, the designers plan to grow trees in the roof. Most of the materials used for the construction are available in the locality in order to shorten the time of constructing and save the cost.
Using wooden-bar system to decorate the café is an interesting method for the composition. Also, it makes a friendly environmentally space.
In every position in the café, you can feel the natural sunshine and wind from the outside. Enjoying a cup of coffee in a wonderful space like that is so great and refreshing. This is a green space in the centre of Nha Trang city.
