How much money need for Mexico trip?

How much money need for this trip? My friend plan to visit Mexico, Air Fare, Hotel, Food etc. for a week, 7 days, six nights. Will 3500 US dollars be enough for two or I need to have more?

It really would depend on the time frame you are looking to travel as well as which gateway city you would be departing out from. I sell many All-Inclusive vacations to Mexico and with the budget that you have, you can get a decent hotel (Ranging from 3 to 4 star hotel accomodations) with all meals included as well as alcoholic beverages. If you are looking to go shopping to take things back I would look into bringing more money with you since there will be lots of markets and shops to lure your attention.

I agree with the previous reply. Depending on the preferences (5 star lodging, gourmet meals, etc) of your style of travel, city of origin, destination in Mexico, etc, $3500 USD might be sufficient for a six-night stay for two. For example, I operate a boutique hotel in the Guadalajara Metropolitan Area (rated #1 on TripAdvisor) where a Deluxe room for two for a six-night stay comes to $715 USD. This rate includes taxes, airport transfers, continental breakfast, free WiFi and more. Our gourmet restaurant is also rated #1 and an average dinner ticket for two averages $50 USD x 7 days = $350 USD. Lunch in our area averages $30 USD for two x 7 days = $210; total $1,275 USD. Depending on your airfare plus your local expenses (shopping, tours, attractions, etc), $3500 is definitely a possibility.

We'd need a few more specifics to really answer this question, Finn.  Is it one person going? And to where?  Mexico City price levels are different than Mazatlan, Cabo, or Cancun.  Will you (or your friend) be in just one place, or moving around?  Is the idea to go budget or luxe? That sort of thing.

That would depend from where you are flying and what type of hotel are you planning on staying in.  If you are flying from Europe, then that would be more expensive than flying from the US.  We offer weekly rates for instance that are around $500 USD for a fully furnished house with equipped kitchen (saving $ from restaurants) in Cuernavaca, Morelos Mexico which is 1 hr. from Mexico City.  The transport is around 12 USD from the airport, taxis are around $3 USD /trip and so the big factor is your cost for your flight.
