travel to Bulgaria & Istanbul

In October I'd like to visit Istanbul before heading to Sofia, Bulgaria, for an international meeting. Can anyone tell me the best way to travel from Istanbul to Sofia? Is by air the only way?

No you can find buses leaving Istanbul to Sofia at least 2 3 times per day.
