Thanks for posting survey results Anil. Hope somebody in power pays attention to them. Be good to get crying kids in one place where we don't have to hear them right behind us. Especially true on red-eyes.

According to a survey by skyscanner.net and reported by TravelDaily News 59% wanted family only section in flights.

" 59% of travellers would like a ‘families only’ section onboard flights. Non-parents particularly liked the idea, with 68% voting in favour, however less than a third of parents surveyed were in agreement.

Over 2,000 people voted in the Skyscanner poll; just 8% of child-free respondents thought people should be entitled to sit where they like, while almost 70% ‘wanted to sit as far away as possible from children’. Almost a quarter of non-parents went one step further saying that they would prefer to flights that were free from children altogether."

Hi Jools, thanks! If it's ok with you to continue this conversation off the forum, I'd love to email. You can email me at marian@mariangoldbergcomm.com

Hi Marian, these are fair questions. My submission post explains my take on it. I'm suggesting that I play devil's advocate for them to make their blog less fluffy and so more interesting. I'm not blogging for them yet. It's a paid opp being promoted with one of these viral popularity contests and as I'm new I don't have many connections, so trying to promote it laterally. I hope you and others here don't get annoyed by my posting and see it as a spam. I am a good, community-minded blogger honest! Thanks, Jools.

Jools, So I don't understand this entirely. If you write about trains, why are you blogging for an airfare site? Also, are they paying you or just linking back to your own blog to give you web traffic?

Hi everyone, I'm a newbie travel blogger (mainly on slow travel and rail travel) in the running to blog for new flight comparison site Flightster. My take on it is quite different, I propose to talk frankly about the manifold miseries of flying and suggest ways of improving the experience. You can read my post at

Please vote for me if you like it and feel free to spread the word! Thanks, Jools aka He Thought of Trains.

P.S: Sorry to cross post this by the way, but I think it may be of interest to those involved with airlines and blogging about flying.

Someone on NYTimes.com asks: Now that there's a Passengers Bill of Rights, do we also need a Passengers Code of Conduct?

Professionalism requires that Steven Slater take the abuse with a smile. Psychology suggests that every human being has a level of endurance, beyond that they are bound to show effects of long term job-related stress. The steady erosion of services and staffing by airlines have taken a toll on both pax and the crew.

Here's another article written by my partner, Christopher Elliott. More good stuff. http://snipr.com/10h8px
