Estate Romana, Rome’s Summer 3-month Festival, Has Just Begun. Let’...

 

More than 30 years ago a picturesque and creative Culture town concillor, Renato Nicolini, realised that a big portion of Romans was spending the summer holidays in Rome and thought of something that could make their stay in Italy’s capital more pleasant. He set up a set of events every night in several areas of the city so that everyone could join one of these happenings. It was Estate Romana (Roman Summer) and it was such a success that it is still going on today and has been copied by many Italian city governments.
