Jon Walters: Just got back late last night from Fort Morgan and had a great week on the gulf. I was really shocked at how empty the beaches are we had the entire beach to ourselves several days. It was nice but everyone needs
to know the beaches are open there are great deals and WE HAD NO
PROBLEM WITH OIL AT ALL!! Yes we did see some tarballs at the edge of the surf but they were all old and they were isolated to right at the very edge of the water. Please go and support this wonderful area." about an hour ago

NOAA Reopens 4,000 Square Miles to Fishing off Western Louisiana Coast

"Federal authorities have reopened more than 4,000 square miles of waters to commercial and recreational fishing off the western coast of Louisiana, after testing of finfish and shrimp samples from the area showed no signs of oil that would be of concern to human health.

No oil has been spotted for a month in the area of federal waters that stretches roughly from the Texas-Louisiana border east to Morgan City, according to the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration."
