As we all know, Dubai is quite an expensive city, especially if we compare it to the other magnificent megapolises. At first it may even seem that there’s nothing to do in Dubai without a great stack of money, but not so. Every city, no matter which, has amazing places which you can enjoy absolutely for free.

Here's a list of my top choices in Dubai (in many cases, you'll need a rental car to reach them). 

1. The Dubai Fountain

Enjoy an incredible show, when thousands of water jets soar up into the air accompanied with lovely tunes, creating an amazing spectacle.

2. Gold Souk and Najmat Taiba


Curious to see the largest gold jewelry ever? Najmat Taiba, the world’s biggest gold ring, is exactly that! The gross weight of the ring is 63.856 kg, which contains about 58.7 kg of 21k gold and 5.1 kg of crystal stones.

3. Dubai Mall

Stroll around the most enormous shopping mall in the Middle East, which among other things includes atttractions such as an amazing aquarium.

Hours: Sunday to Wednesday: 10am - 10pm, Thursday to Saturday: 10am - 12am

 

4. Marina Beach


At Jumeirah Beach Residence, you can find a very nice beach, indeed. Warm breeze, soft sand and clear turquoise water – what more do you need for some deep relaxation? One drawback: as the beach is free, there are no toilets or showers.

5. Safa Park

Want a break from the city’s bustle? Check out wonderful green lawns and several lovely lakes of the Safa Park. Relax lying on the grass or strolling along pleasant walking paths.

6. Bastakiya Quarter

Want to step into the history of Dubai’s old quarter for a taste of the emirates before modernity? The Bastakiya Quarter is an atmospheric warren of streets, squares, and souks.

Hours: recommended in the evening

 

7. Ras Al Khor Wildlife Sanctuary

Ras Al Khor Wildlife Sanctuary is a great chance to discover a unique wildlife of the Middle East! Admire hundreds of magnificent animals and birds, including amazing pink flamingos, but don’t forget to make some cool photos!

8. Dubai Camel Museum

This museum is a real proof of the passion that UAE’s locals still have for their beloved "ships of the desert." Don’t miss it.

9. Wafi City Mall

This Egyptian-themed all offers a spectacular light and sound show every day. See its pyramid-shape building coming to life with lights, accompanied by music to create truly a unique performance.

10. Khan Murjan Souk

A unique souk with lovely decor including stained-glass ceilings evoking various mosques throughout the Islamic world. Just unforgettable experience.
