The Dominican Republic Welcomes Back Azur Air Ukraine

Azur Air Ukraine has resumed flights from Kiev to La Romana Airport in the Dominican Republic. A division of the Anex Tour Group, Azur is flying Boeing 767 carriers that can accommodate 320 passengers each.

The resumption of four weekly flights on a route that stretches almost 6,000 miles “shows the confidence of the Ukrainian tourism market in our country and strengthens our relationship with Anex Tour Group, the Second World’s largest tourist conglomerate, to strengthen the reopening of tourism in the Romana - Bayahibe destination in the Dominican Republic," said a spokesperson for La Romana Airport.

This part of the DR, along the southern coast partway between Santo Domingo in the south and Punta Cana in the southeast, is home to the legendary Casa de Campo Resort & Villas (its marina pictured above) and other noteworthy resorts, along with Altos de Chavón (top),  a late-20th-century recreation of a 16th-century Mediterranean-style village featuring restaurants, shops, and museums.

Mr. Çağıl Beylan, Anex Tour Group director of operations for America, expressed his great satisfaction at the reopening of Azur Air Ukraine's operations at La Romana Airport  -- a route that had been suspended in mid-March due to the coronavirus/COVID-19 pandemic. "During that time, we adapted all our international regulations in accordance with the 'new normal,' also establishing protocols adapted to local health regulations. We trust the Dominican Republic - government support for tourism promises a lot, and we believe that our guests will continue to enjoy their vacations as they always did.
