One of the truly amazing places to visit in USA is undoubtedly Grand Canyon. Grand Canyon is a canyon which is steep sided carved out of the Colorado River in the state of Arizona in USA. This canyon is within the Grand Canyon National Park and is managed by this national park. This canyon is 277 miles (446 km) long up to 18 miles wide with a depth of over a mile (1800 meters).

About this structure, it is said that nearly two billion years in the Earth’s geological history, this area has been exposed by the layer after layer of rock cut by the Colorado River and its tributaries while the plateau of Colorado was lifted. Apart from casual sightseeing from the South Rim, this canyon is popular when it comes to indulging in hiking, running, rafting, and helicopter tours. There is Lipan Point located on the South Rim and also from Toroweap Overlook which is situated 3000 vertical feet just above the Colorado River. This canyon is one of the most visited tourist attraction of USA which will simply blow any tourist’s mind with its splendid structure.
