Great. I'm only too happy to help. Kids love going to the Children's Pool and watching the seals. They also like tide pooling at the north end of La Shores Beach (check a tide chart for the extra low tides that reveal the most sea life). Birch Aquarium you already know, but there's also the Glider Port where they can watch hang gliders and paragliders soaring overhead and landing just a few yards away. At La Jolla Shores Beach did you notice the map on the ground (next to the playground). Kids can walk over it and learn about the marine life that lives offshore in the Underwater Park. Kayaking is very popular, and little kids can spend hours playing in the sand. Menehune Surf School privdes instruction for children. Snorkeling is popular at the Cove. The Burger Lounge on Wall Street, Sammy's Woodfired Pizza on Pearl Street, and Froglanders frozen yogurt on Pearl are the top kid-friendly eating spots.
