Hi,

I'm going to Seville this weekend and want to check out some flamenco. Personally I'm more interested in music and atmosphere than dancing and would rather avoid any shows, especially the laid-on-for-tourist variety. Last time I was in Madrid a Spanish friend took me to a place where the musicians were just sitting around with everyone else and the music was great. If anyone has any tips that would be much appreciated.

The best flamenco clubs are supposed to be on the Triana side of the river but there are overpriced and touristy places there too. In the main part of town try Peña Pies Plomo at C/Dársena 22 and El Rejoneo  at C/Betis 32. And don't miss the Museo del Baile Flamenco. It is for tourists, but so is the Louvre and you wouldn't visit Paris without visiting the Louvre.

No I wouldn't. Thanks for the advice
