The first tip is go and stay in Portugal Dream Coast. See why on www.portugaldreamcoast.com. Then , you can go 1 day to have a city break in Lisbon.
It all depends on what type of attractions you enjoy (museums, shopping, etc.)
But the must-sees are mostly concentrated in the Belém district, while the biggest variety of restaurants are found in Bairro Alto.
I suggest you take a look at these top 10 lists for ideas:

Thank you both for your tips- Mario- I've checked out GoLisbon.com various times (it's honestly been my go-to site for info). I'll be staying in the Alfama district- and look forward to experiencing the cultural richness Lisbon is famous for.

Thanks for sending!
I absolutely love this hotel -- http://solardosmouros.com/portugues/home.htm -- because it succeeds at integrating a very modern, artistic vibe into a historic and respectfully preserved building in Alfama, the old Arabic quarter. What's more, this hotel is reasonably priced, considering how great it is.
Regarding eats: I have never eaten a meal in Lisbon that I didn't flat-out love.
I was there last summer and loved it! Definitely take a day trip to Sintra, if you can. It is less than an hour away by train and has several gorgeous castles worth visiting, including the Pena Palace, Pena Nacional, and the Quinta da Regaliera.

One thing you absolutely must try are pasteis de nata -- delicious egg tart pastries.

Have fun!
Everything Michael just said is right on the money. And the place for pasteis is that famous baker in Belem, Antiga Confeitaria de Belem. Best in the world. Speaking of Belem, lots to see there -- a magnificent old monastery, a museum of coaches that'll make you want to get in and ride, etc. -- and almost all of these things are closed on Mondays, so ideally, go Tues, Wed, Thurs, or Friday.
Thanks again all- Michael- I am definitely planning on visiting Sintra. It's been a must since I started my planning! I've watched various travel segments on Antiga Confeitaria de Belem- and cannot wait to taste. Ed- thanks for the FYI about Mondays! Definitely good to note.

Bom Dia all ;)
I just went to Lisbon in July. A highlight was seeing a Fado show-check out Cafe Luso http://www.cafeluso.pt/
in the Bairro Alto area for dinner and live music. Another cool area to eat at was called "The Docas" or the docks. It is a renovated warehouse district on the river that has a strip of restaurants and clubs. A little expensive but the view and the food were both great. Seems like it is where the locals go for a night out. I would suggest taking a cab back to the city center because it seemed very secluded. Also Belem has a great modern and contemporary art museum called the Berardo Museum-worth checking out.
There are many sites from where you find the info about the Lisbon tour. Here's the one link that may help you regarding the Must See Attractions, Things to do, Restaurants and Night Life. .

One of my friend told me that "you sit down in the restaurant the waiter will bring you some bread and possibly other food you have not ordered. This is not free and will be added to your bill if you eat any of it." So ask the waiter to take it away or just don't eat any of it.

Have a comfortable stay in Luray VA Accommodations
