Cancun hotels

I am traveling to Cancun with my college-aged son during Spring Break week for a quick getaway and am looking for a luxe hotel (4 or 5 star) that's quiet, not overrun with kids, on a good beach and well located.  I do not want to be in the middle of spring breakers at Senor Frogs.  Which hotels would you recommend?  I'm looking for high-end.

If you want to be in the Hotel Zone I would recommend the Ritz Carlton or the Cancun Palace.  Both are well located and are very nice.  The Palace hotels are high end and are currently offering a resort credit but are also all inlcusive.  This allows you to use the resort credit in the spa.  If you are looking for really high end then choose the Ritz but it is not all inclusive and is a much more quiet property so might not be as much fun for your son.

Try the Casa Maya near the big flag... great Italian restaurant on beach (next door)....easy walk into old town...lots of activity on water...quiet and close to ferries for Isla Mujeres et al....
