Question about Costa Rica

re Flamingo Beach Resort in Guanacaste, Costa Rica

Does anyone know anything about this resort? Specifically,

How is the beach?

Are the rooms okay?

Is there a town or are there food vendors nearby for people who want to eat off-campus?

Hey Ed,

I am a travel specialist working down here in Costa Rica. I have been living and working here for 9 years, with 6 of them working in tourism. I head up the audio visual department for Costa Rican Vacations. I have been to the Flamingo Beach resort many times and I have filmed the property a few years ago.

It's a very pleasent place, offering a great pool with stunning sunsets every evening out over the sea in front of the hotel. The beach is great, one of the best in Costa Rica offering lovely white/golden sand beach.

You get what you pay for at the hotel - a basic stay, big spacious rooms, a few amount of amenities. It does feel as though it is around 10 to 15 years old but this is reflected in the price. The food is OK - they have one restaurant serving breakfast, lunch and dinner. There are afew other spots close by as well that are worth checking out along the beach.

I have enjoyed when I stayed there as I knew what to expect. Not 5 stars by any means and certainly not the same as The Westin a bit further south or the Four Seasons further north but very comfortable indeed for 4 stars with a nice little spa as well with a good selection.
