St. Andrew's is probably my favourite small town in the world! You could definitely enjoy long walks along not one but two golden beaches - but DO wrap up warmly! And enjoy looking out towards the sea, and up in the sky - St. Andrew's is only a few miles away from the most important RAF fighter base in the UK - RAF Leuchars. So you can enjoy your Top Gun moments, lol.
Got a sweet tooth? Enjoy about 50 varieties (some you would NEVER think of!) of ice-cream at Janetta's coffee/ice cream parlour. It's an insititution there, I remember having ice cream there over 30 years ago, and it's still going strong!
You could visit the old monuments, and also perhaps try and spot the flat that Prince William and Kate Middleton shared when studying at the university a few years ago...I'll give you a clue, it's in Hope Street :-P
If you're going to be driving, go further along the coast - the East Neuk of Fife - there are beautiful small villages, Crail and Anstruther for instance. Did you Anstruther has probably THE best fish and chips IN THE WORLD! Go to the Anstruther Fish Bar, right at the harbourside...you won't be disappointed!
You can also take a trip to Dundee and visit HMS Discovery, a wonderful old sailing boat of historical importance.
It really depends on how willing you are to drive/travel. If you're driving, why not visit Edinburgh, the 'Athens of the North' ?
Oh, and if you're visiting London, you've got to come on my spy tour, THE INTELLIGENCE TRAIL!
Hope this helps, ladies!
