Syria - recommendations wanted for private guided tour

My husband and I want to visit Syria, ideally with a private guide/driver.  The options we've found so far (booking through a UK based company) are all very expensice.  Can anyone recommend a good Syrain tour agency we could contact direct?

Hi one idea for you is contact Syrian government tourist department direct hopefully they should be able to help you with booking a local guide, You will love Syria it is a fantastic place to visit and very friendly, I loved my visit to it a couple of years ago.
