Work visa or work programs in Australia

I see, read and hear many great things about Australia and was thinking of looking into work abroad programs there. I am usually a person with a plan and this can be one but i am almost willing to make a drastic spontaneous lifestyle change away from America. Does anyone know about work programs for americans and the process of how to make that happen?

i recently got a migrant visa under subclass 163 but the process took 15months since i currently live in India. It is much shorter under various sub classes for citizens living in the US.
