Big and mountainous, stretching along the Pacific from Washington State up to Alaska, British Columbia covers everything from Vancouver, one of the world's most cosmopolitan cities, to rugged back country and towering Rocky Mountain ski resorts (the most famous of which is Whistler; the province is hosting the Winter Olympics in 2010). And of course the capital, Victoria, is a charmer in its own right.

Hot enough for ya? Well it might be 28C in Whistler Village today - but a quick 25 minute trip to the mountaintop via Whistler Gondola and you can go snow-tubing and snowshoeing! No joke.
