If a wheelchair user requested advice on where they could vacation what would you offer?

Research over the past 20 years shows that little has changed in respect to travel agencies satisfying the needs of the disabled person seeking a vacation yet this is a multi-billion dollar market, a market that remains a mystery to many in the travel industry.

Both travel professionals and consumers face the same burning question, 'where can I find out information about what is available for a disabled wheelchair user the world over'?

So the purpose of this discussion is just that ...where would you locate accurate information to better inform both industry professionals and high street consumers in respect to accessible vacations?

If you are looking for a list of tours and accommodations around the world which cater for people with disabilities, here is an up and coming website which aims to do just that.

They list some of our trips from www.westafricadiscovery.co.uk including accommodation and tour packages.

I hope that helps.
Thanks for the quick response One Nation Travel Agency. Your website is a case in point for disabled consumers and agencies alike, having scanned your site extensively I am unable to locate any mention or sign of information that covers disabled travel. Perhaps you could point me in the right direction as to where I can find information I can pass onto clients via the International Network for Accessible Travel.

Great discounts on All Istanbul Hotels

Hotels in Istanbul and throughout Turkey cover the full range of lodgings, from luxury palace hotels through charming, historic inns to simple but clean and cheap pensions and hostels, and even rental villas and flats/ apartments. Here's a list of cities and hotels in Turkey.
Hi to you West Africa Discovery. I know the site and the people behind it and they are doing a fantastic job with almost no funding. Thanks for your contribution. Cheers, Alan

Hi Alan,
Yes, I truly believe that you are correct. I was a travel agent for other 20 years. I can tell you for a fact that there is not enough
information out there for wheelchair clients and wheelchair accessibility. U.S. travel agents are simply not educated on dealing with disabled people. I am very known in the travel industry and will ask around for more information sector of our travel community
Thanx, Nick
