The mountain village of San Genesio is located 1,087m above sea level on the southern hillside, above Bolzano. Monte Zoccolo, a low mountain range, is situated between Val d'Adige in the west, the bottom of the valley of Bolzano in the south, Val Sarentino in the east and the Merano 2000 ski resort in the north.
