Bob Howells

I'm a travel writer specializing in outdoor and adventure travel. I've been a correspondent for Outside, editor at large of National Geographic Adventure, contributing editor and author for National Geographic books, and a contributor to Men's Journal, Travel + Leisure, Smithsonian, Westways, and many others.

I've twice won the Lowell Thomas Gold Award for adventure travel writing, and was the 2009 Lowell Thomas Travel Journalist of the Year silver award winner.

My iTunes app, Adventure Weekends West, covers short adventure getaways in California, Oregon, Washington, British Columbia, and Alaska.
