is an award-winning travel writer and photographer whose work has appeared in magazines such as Hemispheres (United Airlines in-flight), Spirit (Southwest Airlines in-flight), Frommer’s, Pontiac Performance, Luxx Living, Luxx Jewellry, Country Lifestyle, New York City Thrive and more, and newspapers such as The Chicago Tribune, The Dallas Morning News, The Houston Chronicle, The San Antonio Express-News and many others. She is the co-author of The Groom-to-Be Handbook (Skyhorse). She has written travel guides on both San Antonio and New Orleans for Smarter Travel. Her prose also appears in the anthology Louisiana in Words (Pelican). Turk has held the position of travel editor for Today’s Groom, and has been managing editor of four popular regional magazines including San Antonio AT HOME. She is currently the travel writer for San Antonio Woman magazine and writes for Frommers.com. Recent adventures have taken Turk to Rio de Janiero, Brazil; Macau, China; Stockholm, Sweden; Fez, Morocco; Port of Spain, Trinidad; and several cities in Aruba and Jamaica. Turk divides her time between New Orleans, Louisiana, and Seguin, Texas, where she teaches part-time in the English and Communication Studies department at Texas Lutheran University.
