William Tomicki is Editor and Publisher of ENTREE,
a Santa Barbara-headquartered luxury travel newsletter. He has served in this capacity since 1981. ENTREE is the third oldest travel newsletter in the U.S.

He had a long and distinguished career as a travel columnist for the New York Times Syndicate. Today he serves a dedicated following of world travelers with his rich and colorful insights through a wide range of important media. He has co-authored four travel books and was nominated for a Nobel Prize in Literature in June of 2006.
William is considered an intrepid traveler, always in search of a new experience. In the course of his 28-year career as a travel writer, he has single-handedly scaled a sacred aboriginal mountain in Australia, lived with Masai warriors in Kenya, danced on the Great Wall of China, climbed to the top of Angkor Wat at sundown, eaten piranhas in the Brazilian Amazon, hunted jaguars in Belize, galloped horses through the royal woods of Versailles, boxed with heavyweight champ Mike Weaver, bicycled through Tuscany, witnessed private voodoo ceremonies in Haiti and ridden elephants at a palace in India.
He is one of a handful of Americans to be knighted by the French as a Chevalier. He also holds the title of "Cavalier" in Portugal, having been enthroned at the Palace in Porto. Tomicki was caught in the historic 1991 coup in Moscow and reported around the world from Red Square. He's played polo with princes, even won a small fortune in Monte Carlo. One night he miraculously ordered all the Champagne from the wine cellar at fashionable Annabel's in London. He has set his gourmet taste buds on alligator, impala and springbok.
In 1967, Mr. Tomicki was elected to membership in the prestigious Explorer's Club based in New York. He was 26 at the time and remains one of the youngest inductees in the club's 103-year history. Mr. Tomicki was named the youngest Vice President in the history of Tiffany & Company, New York, in 1969. He went on to direct the marketing for John's Island, the prestigious 3000-acre residential community in Vero Beach, Florida from 1971 to 1978. He then proceeded to become Vice President of Sotheby’s International Real Estate, marketing luxury properties in Palm Beach and the Caribbean.
By all yardsticks, William Tomicki seems to have lived a charmed life. In 2007, he acquired land in Devon, England that gave him the title of Lord Millcombe. In 2008 he dramatically won $1,000,000 in the lottery.
Tomicki has been called "the Rabelais of travel writing." Mr. Tomicki graduated from the University of Pennsylvania and served with the U.S. Air Force Reserves during the Vietnam War. When not traveling the world in search of adventure, he studies fencing.
