Thanks very much for your reply. I was in Bali once before -- way back in 1975. (I believe it was a different place then.) I stayed in the compound of a private family near Ubud. We have no location preference, although it would be nice to be in or near a village that has an active gamelan, and/or near a small beach. The most important consideration will be price.
