The park has a peaceful lake lined with lush greenery and boats dotting the water. But the main reason to visit this park is for the people watching. This park is crowded everyday with locals singing, dancing, practicing calligraphy, and playing Mahjong.

The liveliest place of all is the People’s Park Teahouse. It is a relaxing place to sip on some traditional Chinese tea and practice your Chinese with the locals, if you are brave enough. It is here the locals join everyday to chat and just enjoy each other’s company.
