VISIT PALAWAN

About Coron Palawan

Coron is located on Busuanga Island, southwest of Manila. It is halfway from both Manila and Puerto Princesa (Capital City of the Province of Palawan). This town is the trading centre for the entire Calamianes Group of Islands and has a fairly large market situated right on the seafront to make trading easily accessible for locals visiting by “bangka“, a Filipino outrigger canoe boat. There is no beach in the town, if you like to spend some time on a beach,  just hire local “bangkas” which can be chartered via this website or locally upon arrival to take you to the destination of your choice. Coron is one of the famous tourist destinations for divers and non-divers where you can go diving in one of the famous World War II wrecks and see the majestic limestone cliffs from town about 20 to 30 minutes “bangka” boat ride to see those famous attractions.

Coron is located at the northern tip of Palawan in the Philippines, home to the indigenous Tagbanua tribes. Coron Island with its towering gray limestone cliffs, blue-green lakes and numerous coves and lagoons is one of the area’s main tourist attractions. Has other lakes and beaches aside from what we had mentioned but some parts of the island especially the other lakes are not open to the general public because these are considered sacred ancestral lands. The water is usually calm with almost no current.
