June 11 LONDON –arrival ontime 9am –LONDON IS CALLING OUR NAMES!
Arrival into Heathrow – The airport is huge. It’s the busiest airport in the UK with regards to passenger traffic. Heathrow has 5 terminals and is 22 km/14 mi from Central London.

We exchanged a bit of cash in the airport. WOW  an eye opener. 400.00 USD – 226.62L.    Not a great deal for us Americans.

Heathrow offers 4 hours of FREE WI-FI

We decided against taking the bus into the city and took the Heathrow Express.

$21L pp and 15 minute, nonstop from London Heathrow – Paddington Station.

From Paddington we hopped on the next train/the Tube down to Waterloo because they have NO STEPS. When hauling luggage at 50+ lbs, it’s helpful to know what tube state have or don’t have escalators.

Waterloo station is quite large. Have to use the ladies room, you’re going to pay. You don’t pee in London Free. 60 P.

We then caught a taxi to our Flat for the week. Alittle challenging but the lovely Brits assisted us kindly.

Our stay: AIRBNB –we rented a room in a quiet neighborhood. Well there is a first time for everything. Adorable and adequate, and reasonable for what we needed.

A fabulous house in Kennington, London, close to Big Ben.

Exhausted from the flight but no rest. Lizzie’s friend came from Kent today and took us around.

Visiting favorites like Buckingham Palace. The Royal Mews, Oxford Street to shop, and ending the day with some Pub Grub at Taylor Walker/Marlborough Hd in the Marble Arch/Oxford Area.

8pm – back at the flat and ready to rest the feet and get some well needed sleep.

More tomorrow – Stay Tuned!

June 10 – depart US

Day 1 – Due to arrive 11th in 9am in LONDON, so excited. It’s finally a reality! – The flight (USAIRWAYS) was well lets just say – ok – The pilot advised us the electronics totally shut down and that he couldn’t get the engines started, In addition we had to sit in a hot plane until the problem got fixed. 20mins later were were off. Young lady on the landing decided she shouldn’t have eaten before the flight and reached for the bag. OMG are you kidding me – just my luck – a plane that doesn’t want to run and a puuker!.....LOL    . We flew Ft. Myers to Philadelphia – had our last American meal for a while and then…..we about to embark on a 6hr flight to London with a 5 hour time change.

9p leave Philly and arrived 9am LONDON really it’s 4am – OMG REALITY!
