Mt. Everest Base Camp Trekking

Mt. Everest Base Camp Trekking

TriTrip Overview

The Mt. Everest base camp trek is one of the best Himalayan trekking journeys for an adventure holiday in the Nepal Himalaya.  The Mt. Everest base camp trekking is one of the best outstanding destinations for trekkers and it offers the best opportunity to gain the real Himalayan experience. This trek is designed to fulfill the dreams of many people in experiencing the historic route to the base camp of the world\'s highest mountain Mount Everest (Height: 8,848 meters / 29,002 ft). Our expert Mount Everest region trekking consultant provides a finest opportunity to visit both Mt.Everest Base Camp (Height: 5,360 meters / 17,580feet) and Kalapathar (Height: 5,550 meters / 12,654 feet) view point for endless views of Mount Everest together with the surrounding Himalayan range.

Our exclusive  Everest base camp trek itinerary is different from many others in that it also includes some remote trails along the far side of the Khumbu valley. To begin with, we offer a luxury day to explore the vibrant city of Kathmandu before flying into the Himalayan airstrip of Lukla (Height: 2,800 meters / 9,186 feet) to start the ascent into the Khumbu region of the Himalayas. We follow an ancient base camp trekking route that takes us through Sherpa farm villages, Mani stones and monasteries, across the valley through the high mountains. The views grow even more spectacular as we venture up the Dudh Kosi River to Namche Bazaar, the gateway to the Khumbu region. Then we will spend a night in the western valley of Thame, a popular village with famous World record climbers, before continuing up via the hidden villages of Khunde and Khumjung. The trail then leads to Thyangboche monastery, where you will be rewarded with spectacular 360 degree views of Mount Ama Dablam, Mount Everest, Mount Lhotse, Mount Thamserku, Mount Kwangde, Mount Tawache, Mount Khumbila, and Mount Kwandge. Following this we continue through the Imaj valley on up to Dingboche and finally the outstanding view point of Kalapathar and Mount Everest Base Camp before returning to Lukla via Phortse village.

The Mount Everest trekking region is sited in Sagarmatha National Park, a world heritage site listed by UNESCO. It offers so much to the visitor - spectacular views of mountain scenery and friendly Sherpa people as well as Himalayan wildlife that can be commonly seen in this region, such as musk deer, mountain goats and colorful pheasants. There is also a chance that you might see some of the more rare species such as the Red Panda & Snow Leopard. Pine, Juniper and Birch trees are common in the region as well as beautiful rhododendron flowers that can be seen in bloom in spring. Monasteries are found at many places on the route, and evidence of Buddhism can be seen all along the way – from the chortens and mani stones to the friendly monks and the fluttering prayer flags which represent the eternal peace of the holy Himalayas. The physical and spiritual power of this mountain region will stay with you for the rest of your life.
