Hanoi - Sapa Package Tour in 6 Days
This trip includes a night in Hanoi and an adventure tour to Sapa with a trek through the hills and valleys of the Sapa region, discovering several different minorities along the way. Tour itinerary:
Day 1: Hanoi arrival (D, WP)
Arriving at Noi Bai airport in Hanoi, our Driver will pick you up and transfer to your hotel. Relax after your journey before a ‘Welcome dinner’ at a traditional restaurant with Vietnamese cuisine.
In the evening, you will have tickets for a performance of traditional Water Puppetry, an art form unique to northern Vietnam, and a good, light-hearted introduction to its rural culture, over night in Hanoi Imperial hotel.
Day 2: Hanoi discovery – Night train to Sapa (B, L)
After breakfast, our tour guide will pick you up and transfer to visit Temple of Literature, the first university in Vietnam dating back to the 11th century, and a popular attraction, as is Ho Chi Minh’s Mausoleum. Lunch will be served in a local restaurant before drive back to downtown for refreshment by Hoan Kiem Lake with a cup of tea or coffee. The tour is followed by 1 hour drive on cyclo to observe the daily life of Hanoian, along the narrow and bustling streets. Most of them are named starting with “Hang” plus the current on sale goods. Dinner is for your choice.
7h30pm, our guide will take you to train station for night train to Lao Cai. Overnight on train.
Day 3: Lao Cai Station – Sapa – Lao Chai – Ta Van (B, D)
Upon arrival in Sapa Town we have breakfast in local restaurant, enjoy Sapa pure atmosphere. Then, in the afternoon, prepare for a great trek down to the picturesque valley of Muong Hoa. We will walk on small paths and trails to reach Lao Chai and Tavan Village to visit the Tay and Day tribes, where we will have unique homestay experience among hill tribe people, dinner and over night in the local house.
Day 4: Ta Van – Giang Ta Chai – Sapa (B, L, D)
In the morning, you leave for Giang Ta Chai village of Red Dao minority. You will trek through bamboo forest which belongs to Hoang Lien National Park. On the way you will find a nice place to enjoy lunch, after lunch, going up to the main road where you will be picked up by jeep. Ride back to Sapa and you might stop some times on the way to take photos of the fabulous valley of Sapa. Check in Chau long hotel. Enjoy the night in the cloud town.
Day 5: Sapa – Cat Cat – Sin Chai – Lao Cai Station – Overnight train back to Hanoi (B, L)
Sunrise buffet breakfast, you will follow a road going down hill to Cat Cat village. You will stop by a waterfall and a hydroelectric station. Take a rest here before you trek downhill to get Sin Chai village. Enjoy beautiful scenery on the way back to Sapa town for lunch.
Free time to discover by yourself in the afternoon and dinner is for your choice. Back to hotel for shower and then our car will transfer you to Lao Cai station for overnight train back to Hanoi.
Day 6: Arrive back to Hanoi
You will arrive in Hanoi Station at around 5h30. Our tour finishes.
Trip Notes:
The trekking day
A typical trekking day start at about 9.00 am after breakfast. Lunch times can vary depending on the terrain. During the trek we will have short breaks for rest, snack and photographing.
Food
All meals which are indicated in the itinerary are included in the price of this trip. Picnic lunch would be prepared by a local restaurant. The emphasis will be on healthy and nutritious fresh local produce. Please inform us if you have any special dietary requirement.
The tour guide and transfers
In Hanoi, Our guide will follows the tour and accompany you to the train to show you your cabin.
In Lao Cai, our guide will meet you at Lao Cai Railway Station in the morning of the first day and follows the tour. He also sees you off at Lao Cai Railway Station on day 5.
When you get back to Hanoi on day 6, you can easily find a taxi to get to your hotel by your self.

Home stay – the unique experience
On the Northwest Mountain Villages tour, you will need to hike five or six hours per day along a scenic valley to reach a small cluster of ethnic minority villages located in remote area around Sapa. Home stay is really highlights of tour that give you unique experience to discover life and culture of ethnic minorities. Homestay in villages is simple in term of bedding condition and toilet, clean and located beside a spring with a good view. We will sleep on beds with mattress, clean sheet, pillows and mosquito nets. Toilet is usually flush-style. The hosts are very friendly and eager to please. Usually, the host family or guide will cook meals for you, but will not join in out of respect for the guests. If you prefer to them to eat with you, you need to ask the guide in advance to make the arrangements
