Kashubian strawberry: the reddest, the sweetest and the juiciest of them all

Its skin is dark red, slightly glossy, and the flesh is bright red when cut.
In 2009 Kashubian strawberry: Truskawka Kaszubska was registered as a Protected Geographical Indication (PGI) by the European Commission.
Kashubia, a part of Pomerania region, is the home to vast strawberry fields particularly around towns of Kartuzy, Kościerzyna and Bytów.
Poland is the fifth largest horticultural producer in European Union after Spain, Italy, France and Germany.
