The elegant Lijiang River has a magic that can always linger in visitors’ mind. It intoxicates many poets and artists. Xu Xiake, one of the greatest geographers in Chinese history once lingered here for 10 days and could not bear to leave.

In the morning, we started our tour along Lijiang River.

The cruise passed through the mountains beside the banks at a slow rapid. The tour guide Nikki reminded us to pay attention to a stone hill on the bank. It looked like a purple golden crown. The sunshine added a gold lace trough the clouds and glittered the hill.

Keeping forward, we saw the cliff sticking into the river like a sword. Nikki pointed a lane leading to a wonderland of peach blossoms and bamboos.

We arrived at the Painting Mountain which likes a colorful picture with various colored stone veins crossing on it. They were like a group of wild horses; some were running, some were eating, some were neighing.

The cruise came into the Huangbu Beach. We were afraid to disturb the Huangbu Daoying, the essence of Lijiang River. On the bottom of Huangbu Beach, there is a beige slate. It looks like a piece of yellow cloth when you look downward. Then the Huangbu Beach got its name. Lijiang River is broad and calm here, surrounded by seven peaks.

When we cruised back, visitors’ praises poured out like the endless river. All of us believe it’s only the nature can create a beautiful place like Lijiang River.
