New York City's Cherry Blossoms

I missed out the traditional Sakura Matsuri Festival from April 30-May 1 at the Brooklyn Botanical Gardens. Held each year at end of Hanami, a month-long celebration from April 2 to May 1 of Japanese cultural tradition of appreciating cherry blossoms in full bloom.

The pink blossoms waited for me till April 4 and cast their magic spell as we walked the Cherry Walk and the Esplanade. The white tents for the Plant sale were a bit obstructionist but somehow took the end scale in the larger picture as we walked the petal strewn path.
